Psychotherapy in sexology is a process that aims to work on a sexual, intimacy or relationship problem causing suffering or distress. It aims to promote significant changes in thoughts, emotions or behaviors. It is based on recognized scientific models and validated intervention methods that respect human dignity, laws and rules of ethics.

The first meetings consist of a general evaluation period. The purpurse is to determine the nature, the causes and the potential effects of the problem which led the person to consult in clinical sexology. This is an essential step before starting any form of follow-up. The purpose of the evaluation is to better understand the current situation of the person in order to make recommendations, identify work objectives and create an intervention plan or refer to the most appropriate services.
